Prof, Orthopaedic Surgeon
Professor Aasis Unnanuntana is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Deputy Dean of Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand. He is also an immediate past president of the Fragility Fracture Network Thailand and past Secretary General of the Asia Pacific Osteoporosis and Fragility Fracture Society. Professor Aasis has earned recognitions and numerous awards for his works and research studies in bone health and total joint replacement at both national and international levels. He is an active member in many prestigious medical societies including the Royal College of Orthopaedic Surgeons Thailand, the Thai Osteoporosis Foundation, the Thai hip and knee society and the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons. Professor Aasis also took an initiative to digitalize osteoporosis education for general public including Siriraj Osteoporosis Center on YouTube channel.

Dr Hannah Seymour is a Consultant Geriatrician and Clinical Director for the EMR Program in WA Health. Dr Seymour has been a Consultant Geriatrician since completing her training in Western Australia in 2005. She has worked in Acute Orthogeriatrics at Fiona Stanley Hospital since 2015 where she shares the care of older people with orthopaedic surgeons. Hannah is passionate about using data to improve the care of older people with fractures across the world by working on the Steering Committee of the ANZ Hip Fracture Registry and as Past President of the Fragility Fracture Network. She has presented internationally on the care of older people with fractures. Hannah has held a number of leadership positions in Western Australia currently she is the Clinical Director of the state wide EMR Program. Most recently she was the Clinical Nominee on the Sustainable Health Review which was published in April 2019 and Medical Director at FSFHG. Hannah is striving to improve the health of West Australians by obtaining funding for an Electronic Medical Record across WA Health.

Matthew Costa PhD, FRCS, FMedSci. Professor of Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery at the University of Oxford and Honorary Consultant Trauma Surgeon at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. Matt’s research interest is in clinical and cost effectiveness of musculoskeletal trauma interventions. He is Lead Investigator for a series of randomised trials and associated studies supported by grants from the UK National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). His work has been cited widely and informs many guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. Matt is the NIHR National Specialty Lead for Trauma and Emergency Care and an NIHR Senior Investigator. He is also Associate Editor for Trauma and Research Methods at the Bone and Joint Journal. Dr Tan Maw Pin is a Professor of Geriatric Medicine at Universiti Malaya. She is currently the Principal Investigator of the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia Long-Term Research Grant Scheme funded project, TrAnsforming CoGnitivE Frailty into Later-lifE Self-Sufficiency (AGELESS), and is the current President of the Malaysian Society of Geriatric Medicine. "Associate Professor Dr Loh Pui San is a Senior Consultant Anaesthesiologist and the Head of Department of Anaesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine, University Malaya. She specializes in the clinical field of transplant anaesthesia and perioperative medicine, in particular geriatric anaesthesia. A lecturer in University Malaya Medical Centre since 2011, she was also a Fellows in Australia and Cambridge, UK under the prestigious Commonwealth Medical Award. Dr Loh believes as the world population ages and increasingly more older individuals require surgery at the end of their lifetimes, this is a field that deserves attention with equal focus, similar to the other extreme of age in children. She hopes to build the field of geriatric anaesthesia with multidisciplinary colleagues working in both public and private institutions via her active involvement in the Malaysian Society of Anaesthesiologists, Fragility Fracture Network and Ministry of Health. She is part of an expert panel in the National Clinical Practice Guideline for Hip Fractures in the Elderly. Naturally, her research interest includes perioperative management of the elderly focusing on finding suitable risk assessment methods to institute early prevention and the effects of anaesthesia on neurocognitive function. By collaborating with both local and international investigators, Dr Loh hopes to increase the medical evidence in literature to provide the safest care for our older patients in the future

Dr Rani Ramason is a Senior Consultant in Geriatric Medicine in Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore with an interest in Falls Prevention. She also runs the Orthogeriatric Service in TTSH, with her colleague and fellow Geriatrician Dr Chen Shuyu and works closely with Dr Ivan Chua who is the Head of Trauma in Tan Tock Seng Hospital to manage Elderly Hip and Lower Limb Fragility Fractures. She was the Co-director of MOH – HSDP funded Integrated Hip Fracture Program (2011-2016) and subsequently TTSH Co-director of MOH Hip Fracture Bundled Program (2016-2019).

Dr. Sabarul Afian Mokhtar is the Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery (Spine) at the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He was the pioneer orthopaedic surgeon working and doing research at the Macquarie University Hospital and completed his PhD entitled “Development of a Model for Assessment and Predicting Outcome in Surgery for Degenerative Disorder of the Lumbosacral Spine” where his research and practices mainly focused on the ageing spine. He is currently the head of Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology. He has served as the Deputy Dean at Faculty of Medicine UKM, Deputy Director of UKM Medical Centre and Deputy Director, Pro Vice Chancellor of Medical and Health Campus UKM. He is actively involved in the undergraduate and postgraduate education at both national and international level by being the member of the National Orthopaedic Curriculum Committee (NOCC) and ASEAN Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Education Committee. He has established the Fracture Liaison Service in Malaysia which was awarded the Silver Award in 2019 and Gold Award in 2022 by the International Osteoporosis Federation (IOF).
