On behalf of the Fragility Fracture Network of Malaysia (FFN Malaysia), it is my privilege to welcome you to this significant gathering, taking place from the 13th to the 15th of June 2024. We are honoured that this meeting in Kuala Lumpur is also a collaborative effort between FFN Malaysia, Asia Pacific Osteoporosis and Fragility Fracture Society (APOFFS) and Asia Pacific Geriatric Network (APGN).

The theme for our meeting is “Holistic Fragility Fracture Care, Driving Systemic Change”.

Our commitment to advancing the field of fragility fracture care and prevention has brought us together from across the Asia Pacific region and beyond. To drive a systemic change, we need to work together with our concerted efforts to provide a holistic care for patients presenting with fragility fracture. This meeting is an exceptional opportunity for us to collaborate, exchange knowledge, and strengthen our collective resolve to improve the lives of those affected by fragility fractures.

Kuala Lumpur, with its blend of tradition and modernity, serves as an inspiring backdrop for our discussions and endeavours. As we delve into the various facets of fragility fracture management, I encourage you not only to engage in the rich intellectual discourse but also to savour the diverse cultural experiences and warm hospitality that Kuala Lumpur has to offer.

The challenges posed by fragility fractures are substantial, but so is our collective expertise and determination. Together, we can make a significant impact in improving the quality of life for those who suffer from fragility fractures, and we can work toward a future where such fractures are minimized through proactive prevention strategies.

Our programme for this meeting is thoughtfully curated to encompass the latest research findings, best practices, and innovations in fragility fracture care. It is my hope that the knowledge and insights gained here will empower each of us to make a tangible difference within our communities and healthcare systems.

Dear Esteemed Colleagues and Friends,

It is with great pleasure that I extend my warmest welcome to all of you to the 2nd Fragility Fracture Network (FFN) Asia Pacific Regional Congress in Kuala Lumpur. This gathering marks a significant milestone in our collective commitment to advancing healthcare and improving the lives of individuals affected by fragility fractures throughout Asia Pacific.

Fragility fractures are a pervasive and challenging health concern that demands our utmost attention. These fractures not only result in physical pain and disability but also carry a considerable emotional and economic burden for patients and their families. Addressing the multifaceted aspects of care for fragility fractures requires systematic, well-coordinated multidisciplinary teamwork to holistically deliver best practices.

Our congress theme, “Holistic Fragility Fracture Care – Driving Systemic Change” underscores the importance of a comprehensive approach to fragility fracture management. We understand that effective care extends beyond just the medical treatment of the fracture itself. It encompasses prevention, rehabilitation, psychological support, and the overall well-being of the patient.

By bringing together experts from diverse fields, we aim to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, share knowledge, and explore innovative solutions to improve the quality of care for fragility fractures. Our programme includes sessions on evidence-based treatments, surgical techniques, rehabilitation strategies, and the importance of secondary fracture prevention. We will also delve into the role of technology, telemedicine, and advancements in healthcare delivery in ensuring that patients receive the best care possible.

I encourage all participants to actively participate in the conference by sharing your research findings, clinical experiences, and insights. I look forward to productive discussions, enlightening presentations, and meaningful connections during the 2nd FFN Asia Pacific Regional Congress. Together, we can shape a brighter and healthier future for all those impacted by fragility fractures throughout Asia Pacific.

Thank you, and let us embark on this journey of knowledge and compassion.

Sincerely,

Hui Min Khor

Our conference provides a platform for leading experts, researchers, and practitioners from diverse fields to converge, exchange knowledge, and forge collaborations that can lead to significant systemic change. We will explore ground breaking research, evidence-based practices, and innovative technologies that can revolutionize fragility fracture care. Equally important, we will engage in dialogue about policy and structural changes necessary to ensure that holistic care becomes the standard of practice, rather than the exception.
